Taste of The Caribbean | Our Story

Where Caribbean tradition feeds a community

Where Caribbean tradition feeds a community

Taste of the Caribbean started with four friends, a shared love of island cooking, and a belief that food is best when it brings people together. Nearly twenty years later, that belief still drives everything we do.
How we started

How we started

Four friends came together in 2004 over a love of Caribbean cooking and planted the seed for something special. Lorraine Newton took ownership in 2006 and has guided Taste of the Caribbean ever since, building it into a cornerstone of Capitol Heights.

We've catered the milestones that matter — birthdays, baby showers, weddings. The Taste Lounge keeps that same spirit alive with live music and weekly events.
